Tests Requirements for IVF Treatments

In an effort to assist you, we have prepared this pre-cycle checklist as a guide to understanding the in vitro process and how important it is to complete all required steps in a timely matter. If you already have results for some of these tests, please contact us to clarify which test you may still need.


Step I Uterine Cavity Evaluation (must be completed within 6 months of IVF cycle)

○ Saline Sonogram – Make an appointment with your OB/GYN on the first day of your next period to schedule. This appointment needs needs to be scheduled on cycle day 7 thru 10.

Step II Required Infectious Disease Screening for Female & Male (test valid for one year)

♀ Female Blood Testing
○ FSH, LH, Estradiol (Cycle Day 2 or 3)
○ HTLV I/II
○ RPR
○ HIV
○ Hepatitis B surface antigen
○ Hepatitis C antibody
○ RH Blood Type
○ CBC
○ Glucose (Fasting)
○ TSH/Prolactin/Rubella/Varicella

♂ Male Blood Typing
○ HIV
○ HTLV I/II
○ RPR
○ Hepatitis B surface antigen
○ Hepatitis C antibody
○ RH Blood Type

Step III Required IVF Semen Analysis (good for one year)

○ Contact your OB/GYN and ask for a referral to an IVF clinic in your area to schedule an appointment for a semen analysis for your spouse. This test can also be preformed in our clincs for a fee of $30, if it makes the process easier.


The combined cost of doing precycle testing for both female and male patients is $400. If precycle testing is done with us, the patients must travel to our clinic two days prior to IVF treatments start date.


Once ALL test have been completed we can then give a proper protocol for your IVF cycle. A calendar will be created, given you exact dates for your IVF treatment and the length of time you will need to stay with our IVF clinic.
